Dr. Beth Frankel
Dr. Beth Frankel was born in Hackensack, New Jersey and moved to Arizona at the age of eleven. She received her bachelor’s degree in Physiology from the University of Arizona in 2006 and completed her Doctorate in Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2010 with clinical honors.
Dr. Frankel has been in family-based private practice in Arizona for the past 12 years and has been with Eyes on Hayden since early 2021. Dr. Frankel practices with emphasis in primary care optometry and ocular disease, including the management of ocular conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and retinal eye disease. Being a Type 1 diabetic since early childhood, Dr. Frankel also has a passion for helping diabetic patients with the prevention and management of diabetic eye disease. Known throughout the community for her incredible knowledge and bedside manner, Dr. Frankel is highly respected and dearly loved by her patients. She was named Top Doctor in Optometry in the state of Arizona in 2022 and it's no wonder why! When not caring for her patients, Dr. Frankel can be found spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and exercising.
Dr. Carey Shifrin
Dr. Carey Shifrin is a dedicated optometrist with over 20 years of experience in the eye care industry. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

As an experienced private practice optometrist, Dr. Shifrin is passionate about providing comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages. She strongly believes in the importance of annual eye examinations to support optimal vision and overall health. A cornerstone of her approach is patient education—taking the time to explain visual findings and the detailed aspects of eye exams that help screen for systemic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and inflammatory diseases. Dr. Shifrin proudly serves as a member of the Arizona Optometric Association Board of Directors, reflecting her commitment to professional leadership and the advancement of the optometry profession. Outside the office, she is equally dedicated to raising her two teenagers, who are avid hockey and soccer players. In her free time, you’ll often find Dr. Shifrin hiking the mountains of Scottsdale with her Doberman, Luna. Dr. Shifrin looks forward to welcoming you and providing exceptional eye care for you and your family at Eyes on Hayden.
